SOME PHOTOS taken in fog, right after sunrise yesterday.
A deer in a meadow, at Jefferson Barracks Park.
Familiar objects can become strange when shrouded with fog. I was puzzled by these two figures when I first saw them; but they turned out to be merely tall plants.
At Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Requiescant in pace.
A restored wildflower meadow at Cliff Cave Park.
Sunrise over the Mississippi River.
Tugboats on the river.
Trees along the river bank.
Thanks Mark, I get a lot of good ideas from looking at your pictures. The results are never that good though.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mark; my parents are buried here. I came across this tonite - I had not seen this this morning...
ReplyDeleteI had just been speaking about them to my SD this afternoon. It had seemed so odd that at 61 years old they came up at the meeting...
Thank you especially for your 'Requiescant in pace.' God Bless You!
These are just beautiful. I've always been one to love fog. The wildflower meadow looks like a painting.
ReplyDeleteKen&Carol: one of the first lessons I learned about photography was that I had to avoid overexposure, since that ruins bright colors; but avoiding that means everything is darker, and so I have to brighten the image afterwards. Much of the study I've done in photography is on how to make an image resemble my impression of the scene, it's harder than it looks and getting a better camera won't help much.
ReplyDeletetimh: that is the very sad thing about secular cemeteries. Who prays for the departed? What consolation and hope is there for the living?
Victoria: "looks like a painting". That is a great compliment! Thank you!
mark, your photos make me proud to be a missourian. so beautiful.
