Some Photos of Saint Mary's Church, in Alton, Illinois

LAST FRIDAY, I made a brief visit to Saint Mary's (Immaculate Conception) Church, in Alton, Illinois. This church was renovated since my last visit four years ago, and on this day, workmen were busy refinishing the wooden doors.

    wish you could have seen the church in the 80s when Msgr Suddes was pastor - the apse walls were painted with Marian symbols and monogram and one wall had the papal coat of arms and the other the local ordinary's coar of arms. The altar rail was intact and used at every Mass!!
