IMMACOLATA PARISH was founded in 1945, and this church in the Modern style dates from 1967. It is located in the suburban Saint Louis County city of Richmond Heights, about 11 miles west of downtown.
Behind the altar is a mosaic of the flame of the Holy Spirit, made by the Ravenna Mosaic Company. This photo was taken during Holy Week, and so the church was not decorated.
Stained glass window in the narthex has symbols including those of Baptism and the Holy Spirit.
In Christian art, ‘Immacolata’ refers to a kind of icon of the Virgin, also known as Our Lady of Grace.

The organ in this church is unique. Reportedly it was used at Yankee Stadium for Pope Paul VI's visit there. Even though the pipes are rather prominent for a Catholic sanctuary, those seen are all that there are- the rest of the instrument is 1970's era electronics.
