I am fascinated by springs. Is there any local lore about this spring? Do the locals drink from it? We have artesian wells in my part of Indiana and many of them are still visited by locals who fill jugs with this kind of "spring water"
I am also fascinated by springs, of which there are very many in the area, and most are quite obscure.
This particular spring is a mere trickle, so I doubt that any but dogs and wild animals drink from here. I am unaware of any local lore, unfortunately. The area around the spring is very nicely landscaped, and the local garden club keeps it cleaned up.
I vividly remember my grandfather having a tin cup in his car that when he took us on drives through the Missouri countryside , he would stop, sample then share the water from road side springs or seeps that dripped from rocky roadside cuts. We didnt need to carry water in a Plastic bottle! People today would have near breakdowns even thinking of putting the cup to their lips! It is a simple memory but one which I will always cherish.
You care for the land and water it; you enrich it abundantly. The streams of God are filled with water to provide the people with grain, for so you have ordained it.
You drench its furrows and level its ridges; you soften it with showers and bless its crops.
I think the difference is a lack of faith in the world the Lord has provided for us. I often wonder if our isolation from the natural world has contributed to so many people isolating themselves form their spiritual life. Water comes from a bottle, Faith is something I do for 45 minutes on Sunday.

Outstanding post! I will admit that I am many times in awe of our God when I am outdoors and particpating in the natural world!
