Tugboat on the Mississippi River.

  1. that appears to be an early morning shot. It would be great if the city were to be able to keep the riverfront cleaner but the constant rise and fall and flooding makes it difficult to build anything too attractive. Perhaps if sections of the river were permitted to be mighty once again and not so manhandled it would be easier to view...just my opinion

  2. I took this photo just before 10:00 a.m. One of the odd things about Saint Louis — which has its entire eastern border on the Mississippi — is that there are so few places where you can actually see it. This was taken from Carondelet Park, which is at the far southern end of the bluffs on the City's southside. Maybe after 500 years or so, the city will have a nice riverfront, like you find in Europe, but right now the western bank is mainly industrial.
