An intriguing photograph that hides the width of the structure and accentuates the height. Excellent, as always (the photograph and not this comment : ))
Imposing B&W photo (especially in high-res), which of course increases the drama. But having been raised in a German family, I will forego the "German-style feast".
It would have been nice to shoot it directly head-on, but that isn't possible in this case. Almost is good enough.
It is in black and white because of the sodium vapor lighting, which makes for very poor color photography. One of the goals of the current restoration effort is to replace the lighting, and to clean off all of the old coal dust from the tower.
