THIS SUNDAY is the 100th Anniversary of St. Francis de Sales Church, and celebrations will feature an Orchestra Mass and Kirchweifest.Bishop Robert J. Hermann, Archdiocesan Administrator, will celebrate Mass on November 23rd at 10:00 a.m., with choir and full orchestra.
At 12:30 p.m., a German-style feast will be offered in the church hall.

ReplyDeleteImposing B&W photo (especially in high-res), which of course increases the drama. But having been raised in a German family, I will forego the "German-style feast".
ReplyDeleteIt would have been nice to shoot it directly head-on, but that isn't possible in this case. Almost is good enough.
ReplyDeleteIt is in black and white because of the sodium vapor lighting, which makes for very poor color photography. One of the goals of the current restoration effort is to replace the lighting, and to clean off all of the old coal dust from the tower.
