Theater of the Word, Incorporated, a St. Louis-based, not-for-profit professional theatrical company, marks the 150th anniversary of the apparitions of Our Lady of Lourdes with a production of the play Smallest of All, penned by St. Louis native and Poor Clare nun, the late Mother Mary Francis.Click for full article.
The play depicts how Bernadette Soubirous, the seer of Lourdes, as a fourteen-year-old girl, stood her ground firmly, yet with wit, humility, and faith, in the face of the cynicism, hostility, and skepticism of Church and civil authorities, as well as of her family and fellow townsfolk. This production of the play was specially requested by Archbishop Raymond L Burke for the anniversary year.
Four performances of the play are scheduled, February 17 and 22-24. The performances of February 17 and 24 are at 2 p.m., and those of February 22 and 23 are at 8 p.m., and all take place in the Pope John Paul II Auditorium at the Cardinal Rigali Center, 20 Archbishop May Drive in Shrewsbury.
