CONDEMNED

Saint Alphonsus Liguori "Rock" Church, in Saint Louis, Missouri, was badly damaged by fire this past Thursday, and the building is now condemned. It will be about a year before it can reopen.

Nearly the entire ridge beam of the roof is gone, as is the copper flèche that once stood over the transept. There is extensive water and smoke damage in the interior, although the walls and tower are intact, as are most of the stained glass windows.
