THE FOLLOWING PHOTOS were taken from the 19th floor of a building in Clayton, Missouri.
More-than-thousand-foot broadcast towers dwarf the Kenrick-Glennon Seminary building on the left. Click on photos for a larger version. This photo is directed due south, and on the horizon we can see a ridge of the Ozark Mountains in Jefferson County. Missouri is not a particularly mountainous state: its highest point, Taum Sauk Mountain, is just a bit higher than these towers.
A closer view of the seminary, about five miles from the camera.
Immacolata Church in Richmond Heights
The domed building is the Saint Louis State Hospital in the City, dating from 1869; the Renaissance-style dome was designed by the same architect as the Old Courthouse downtown. The square tower to the left belongs to Saint Luke the Evangelist Church, while the matching twin spires in the background is Saint Anthony of Padua. On the horizon are bluffs in Illinois overlooking the Mississippi River.
Saint Mary's Hospital, sponsored by the Franciscan Sisters of Mary. In the far background you can see the spire of Saint Francis de Sales Oratory and the Anheuser-Busch brewery.
A forest 0f old growth trees, allowihg, but hiding most of an endangered species (Homosapiens).
