FR. JOHN EMERSON, in the comments to the posting Photos of Saint Monica Church in Creve Coeur, Missouri, mentioned that some of his ancestors lived in that area in the 19^th century, and that Emerson Road in Creve Coeur was named after them.

Here is a panorama view of the corner of Emerson and Old Ballas Roads, near Olive Boulevard. It is a few blocks from Saint Monica's Church.

Visible are office buildings, parking garages, and a luxury car dealership. The area still had much farmland up until the 1980s, now it is increasingly urbanized.
